BUGS
1.) People who lack common courtesy.
I think it bugs me because I feel like this
skill is supposed to be “Common”
2.) People who are inconsiderate of others
This bugs me because I feel like if a
person is going to be around others they should consider that when making
choices
3.) Unprofessionalism in people who are at work
I think the root cause of this is that work
ethic was pounded into me at my first job and I never lost it, and for some
reason it makes me expect that others should have some sort of ethic when they
are working.
4.) Seeing litter in public places, especially nature reserves
This bothers me because I think people
should be responsible for their own garbage. To throw your trash onto the
ground expecting someone else to take care of it, or worse that it will sit
there forever is so selfish and inconsiderate.
5.) People who don’t use their turn signal on the road.
This is probably a huge bug for many. I
mean there are only a handful of things you need to do while driving and it
doesn’t take much. Use your signal when turning, navigate the wheel, and look
at your mirrors. It’s not rocket science.
6.) Speaking of driving, people who tail me to get me to go faster bug the
heck out of me.
I have a baby girl and something about
being responsible for her has made me a very cautious driver. Someone tailing
me especially at night is so scary and such an awful thing to do to another
driver. Its like people forget that they are operating a vehicle that can cause
harm to others if they aren’t careful.
7.) People in power positions who are rude to someone requiring their help.
Who doesn’t hate going to a government building
needed help with something and getting talked to like you’re the scum of the
earth all because they hold the power? It’s the worse.
8.) Commercials.
Ha, I think this is self explanatory.
9.) The US Government
I mean, I can go on forever. To make it
short I’ll say: The original founding fathers wanted freedom from a bureaucracy
so strong, that it began to serve itself and not the people it represented.
And, well, can you see that in less than a couple hundred years our government
has turned into the same thing it was created to oppose?
10.)
Rap
songs these days bug the crap out of me.
I mean, they aren’t even saying words now.
11.)
People
who love to be victims.
If you’ve ever dealt with a person who
chronically complain about their circumstances in order for people to feel
sorry for them, but they never do anything to change it, then you know what I mean.
12.)
The
Media
They almost never tell the truth.
13.)
People who blame their problems on their
parents.
I just think once we reach a
certain age, we should throw the idea of our parents being our parents into the
fire. Thinking of them instead as our brothers and sisters walking on this
Earth trying to find a way just like us.
14.)
Phone
prompts instead of customer service
When you call a company for help using
their product that you pay your money for, you deserve actual customer service.
I don’t know how these companies figured that these automated machines would be
an appropriate substitute.
15.)
Spam/Junk
Mail
I’ve lost entire
email accounts because I couldn’t keep up with deleting and flagging all the junk mail! Come on!
16.)
Inconsistency
This is a hard one to explain. Basically I
appreciate when people are consistent in the way they do things if it involves
me. So basically if I go to a restaurant and have the most amazing burger, I want
to be able to go back and order the same thing and get that amazing burger
again. Which almost never happens. Consistency is important for lots of
reasons.
17.)
Vegetarians/
Vegans
Lol, I don’t know why. I just really want
them to eat meat. Haha
18.)
Doctors
This is something I can’t put a blanket
blame on the entire category. But, some doctors especially the ones I’ve
experienced in Miami are absolutely ridiculous. Medicine is their practice, so
its always the approach for them even if the medicine isn’t necessary. I mean
these are chemicals that we are putting into our bodies and they have side
effects that are usually awful for you. Some things are better left untreated.
19.)
Speaking
of doctors, the pharmaceutical industry.
Its mind blowing how much influence and
power these guys have over the FDA, doctors, and even the thought process of
Americans regarding their own health. I could write a 100 page paper on the
scamming this industry participates in. It just saddens me that Americans are
suffering greatly because our government cares more about money than it does
about protecting its citizens.
20.)
Non-Hand
washers
If you walk out of a bathroom stall in
public and I see you walking out of the bathroom without stopping at the sink,
I’m judging you, HARD. Lol
Reflection: This list was probably a little
to easy to write. I think there are only a handful of things that bother me,
and I know exactly what they are. The problem is, most of them are out of my
control. I hope to be able to influence some of these situation some way, but I
don’t believe I have the power to change them completely. Don’t get me wrong, I’m
not a crazy person. While these things “bug” me, I don’t let them meddle with
my emotions. I just hope for a better world is all. =)
I like your bug list! I think the best one to me is that people lack common courtesy. I agree 100% with that. I can not stand when people do not have manors or can not say a simple thank you. Another favorite of mine is commercials haha. This is why I mostly just watch netflix because there are no commercials. Great post! Thank you for sharing it with me.
ReplyDeleteHi Brittney!
ReplyDeleteI got a few laughs out of reading your post! I basically agree with everything you had to say and it's surprising I didn't think of some of these while writing my list! In regards to number 20, sometimes I am one of those people that walk out of the bathroom stall without washing my hands. Sounds gross but I am actually one to keep my own disinfectant and wipes on me, especially if the bathroom is already dirty. It's funny because I feel people judging me as I walk out so I started to take my things out of my bag before I leave the room.
